Sevilla Charter of Industrial Heritage
The Fundación Pública Andaluza Centro de Estudios Andaluces has published the Seville Charter of Industrial Heritage 2018: the Challenges of the 21st Century.
The 40-page document, with text in Spanish and English, is the product of the 2018 VII Seminar on Industrial Landscapes of Andalusia, “Thinking about Industrial Heritage: the Challenges of the 21st Century” organised by the Andalusian Centre for Studies and the International Committee for Conservation Industrial Heritage-Spain.
The seminar took place 17-19 May of last year in the Sevillian locality of Villanueva del Río y Minas—in collaboration with the University of Seville School of Architecture. Its goal, according to the Seville Charter’s introduction, was “to analyse the situation of Industrial Heritage in Spain, with specific attention paid to the current reality of Andalusia. The main object being the updating of knowledge, methodologies and proposals.”
