DIVERSE CULTURAL VESSELS OF SUSTAINABLE WATER HERITAGE FROM ASIA
29 July 2024, 2 p.m.
Online Event
In 2018, the UNESCO International Hydrological Programme (IHP) recognized the Global Network of Water Museums as an important initiative for achieving SDG 6 (on water). Faced with the challenges of climate change, we need innovative water resource management and cultural heritage governance approaches.
This international webinar aims to compare and contrast the concepts of international case studies from the Global Network of Water Museums, Living Water Museum, Tainan Shan-Shang Garden Museum and The Water Agency with the practical implementation.
The goal is to promote and reflect on water heritage protection and youth involvement on water resources. We hope to connect the shared experiences and resources with water cultural heritage protection organizations from other countries and regions, and enhance cross-cultural awareness on water heritage.
Webinar Highlights
- Discuss strategies for the maintenance and preservation of water museums and water cultural landscapes
- Share international cases on sustainable and resilient preservation of hydrological heritage
- Gather cross-disciplinary maintenance experiences involving digital platforms for “living” water museums, industrial architectural landscapes, community participation, youth involvement and educational integration
- Enhance cross-cultural awareness of water resource
Don’t miss this excellent opportunity to explore water resources and cultural heritage! Let’s work together for a sustainable future and protect our precious water cultural heritage!
The webinar will be conducted primarily in English, with some parts in Chinese, and will be live-streaming on ANIH’s Facebook and YouTube channels.
